Author Biography

Teresa Pereira, FCSH-NOVA Lisbon

Teresa Pereira is an Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH, where she teaches English and North American Studies, and she is an integrated researcher at the Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies (CETAPS), where she serves as Vice-Coordinator for the Anglo-Portuguese Studies Research Area. Member of the Audit Committee of the Portuguese Association for Anglo-American Studies (APEAA), she holds an MA, concluded in 2014, in Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, specializing in English and North American Studies, and a PhD in Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, specializing in Cultural Studies, which she obtained in 2022 summa cum laude. Adopting a comparative approach to literature, cultural studies, and video games, Teresa Pereira was awarded the prize Melhores Mestres 2013/2014 for the work she developed in her MA and a FCT PhD Studentship to write her PhD thesis. Teresa Pereira also holds a second MA in Teaching English and Spanish as Foreign Languages, for which she received the award “Melhores Mestres 2021/2022.” Her main research interests are Literary Studies, Cultural Studies, English and American Studies, Anglo-Portuguese Studies, neo-Victorian Studies, Victorian Studies, Game Studies, Foreign Language Education, and Intercultural Citizenship Education.
