Resumo

This study aims to highlight the importance of St. Francis of Sales in the field of spiritual direction, especially declined in the feminine. Indeed, the work of the Saint was intense and diverse, trying to perfect the souls to all who approached him. In person, through letters or his books, particularly the Introduction to the Devout Life, he went into many homes, came to the court and entered the monasteries. Thus he made his mark at the time when he lived and radiated his influence to the following centuries, crossing geographical and language barriers.
