Resumo

Este estudo reinterpreta a história da bibliometria, das origens documentais aos sistemas algorítmicos contemporâneos, para analisar como a dependência de trajetória moldou as métricas atuais e produziu a inércia avaliativa. Caracteriza-se como um ensaio teórico-histórico fundamentado em revisão integrativa, articulando obras fundadoras e estudos de Ciência e Tecnologia. Os resultados evidenciam que a trajetória do campo é marcada por sedimentação, demonstrando que vieses da era do mainframe persistem e que a disseminação tecnológica falhou em promover diversidade epistemológica. Atualmente, a fragmentação via API e altmetria coexiste com lógicas hierárquicas herdadas. Conclui-se que o sistema permanece vinculado à sua trajetória original, fenômeno sustentado pelos processos de inércia epistemológica e atrofia interpretativa, que reforçam a primazia da contagem sobre a interpretação do contexto científico.
