This article aims to study the form(s) as the text of Father Matias de Andrade, O.C., A Guerra Interior, fits into the frame of the spiritual treatises of the Portuguese Oratory, especially after the contribution given by the works of Father Manuel Bernardes, O.C., with particular emphasis on issues related to spiritual direction.
