As mulheres como objeto sociológico
entre dominação e silenciamento na história da sociologia clássica
Keywords:
Mulheres; Objeto sociológico; Sociologia clássicaAbstract
The foundation and institutionalisation of sociology were marked by the coexistence of two epistemologically divergent currents: one, produced by men, grounded in an androcentric matrix yet imposed as universal, which became dominant, and another, produced by women, rooted in empirical evidence and oriented towards social change, which was silenced and erased from history. By tracing the trajectory of women as an object of sociological inquiry across these two bodies of theoretical and empirical production, the article highlights the situated character of knowledge, reflected, on the one hand, in a peripheral approach and, on the other, in a central perspective for understanding the modern social order.
