Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
Páginas a&b recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including writing support systems, data analysis, and linguistic review, can be used as auxiliary instruments in the scientific production process. However, their use must respect the fundamental principles of ethics, transparency, intellectual responsibility, and scientific integrity.
The journal adopts an approach of responsible use of AI, in accordance with international editorial best practices. Under no circumstances can AI be considered the author or co-author of scientific works, nor can it replace the intellectual, critical, and scientific responsibility of the authors, who remain fully responsible for the content submitted.
Authors' Responsibility
Authors are entirely responsible for the use of AI tools in their work, including the accuracy, originality, precision, integrity of data, correct attribution of sources, and respect for copyright. The use of AI does not exempt authors from complying with the journal's ethical standards, particularly with regard to plagiarism, authorship, data manipulation, and the originality of the work.
Whenever AI tools are used in the manuscript preparation process, including writing support, textual reformulation, linguistic revision, data analysis, or image generation, authors must explicitly declare such use at the time of submission through the Declaration of Use of Artificial Intelligence, found in the Instructions for Authors.
Declaration of Use of Artificial Intelligence
Páginas a&b requires authors to submit, in a separate file (accessible at Submissions ⮕ Instructions for Authors), a Declaration of Use of Artificial Intelligence, which must clearly indicate:
- Which AI tools were used (including name and version, whenever possible);
- At what stages of the work AI was used (e.g., writing, linguistic revision, data analysis, etc.);
- The degree of AI intervention in the article production process;
- The prompts or instructions provided to the AI tools, in sufficient detail to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
The absence of this statement constitutes grounds for non-acceptance of the manuscript or for requesting clarification during the editorial process.
Editorial Evaluation and Peer Review
The declared use of Artificial Intelligence does not, in itself, imply the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript. All articles submitted to Páginas a&b are evaluated exclusively on the basis of their scientific quality, originality, relevance, and methodological rigor, through an independent peer review process.
The editorial team reserves the right to request additional clarification on the use of AI, as well as to take appropriate measures in cases of misuse, undeclared, or ethically questionable use of Artificial Intelligence tools.
