Abstract

The presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been growing in various sectors, and archives and libraries are no exception. Among the most recently adopted technological solutions, chatbots have taken on an important role, helping to communicate with users and facilitating access to information resources. These systems make it possible to automate repetitive tasks, making services more agile and accessible. However, despite the obvious benefits, the implementation of these tools raises some concerns, particularly in relation to the quality of responses and the ability to correctly interpret the context of interaction. In addition, there are ethical challenges that need to be considered. This study critically analyzes the advantages and limitations of chatbots in Information Science, reflecting on their impact on information practices and institutional dynamics.
