COLLABORATIVE ORGANIZATION AND REPRESENTATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

This paper discusses issues regarding the application of folksonomies in collaborative cultural heritage platforms, highlighting the need for new organizational forms in response to the growing volume of information and the expansion of digital heritage. In this context, folksonomy stands out as a strategy that broadens user participation in assigning descriptors and enriching metadata, thereby promoting a greater diversity of perspectives. This research, characterized as bibliographic, exploratory, and documentary, analyses the CrowdHeritage and Mukurtu platforms, chosen for exemplifying different collaborative approaches. The study demonstrates the relevance of information representation not only as a technical process but as a social practice that contributes to the preservation of collective memory, democratic access to culture, and the strengthening of cultural heritage within the digital environment.
