Resumo

Esse artigo explora o projeto East Art Map, desenvolvido pelo coletivo IRWIN, situando-o como uma resposta crítica à hierarquia taxonômica da história da arte ocidental universal (Močnik, 2006). O projeto, dividido em duas fases, insere práticas artísticas e conexões do Leste Europeu que antes foram silenciadas. Enquanto prática de pesquisa artística, o East Art Map alinha-se a teorias contemporâneas como research-based art (Bishop, 2023) e educational turn (Rogoff, 2008). Politicamente, o projeto incorpora o spatial turn (Piotrowski, 2012), sublinhando a necessidade de abordar a geopolítica nas práticas artísticas, como um meio de produzir conhecimento que transcende o colonialismo.
