Abstract
Our first encounter with Eduardo Lourenço took place in the 1980s, through a wise professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. Presenting a proposal for characterising culture and philosophy in Portugal from a fundamentally heterodox perspective, after briefly mentioning other thinkers, he introduced us to Eduardo Lourenço, the author of Heterodoxias. He introduced us not only to Lourenço the philosopher, but also to Lourenço the critic and Lourenço the thinker, who, between culture, philosophy and literature, found in poetry an expression of great importance: which leads us to consider Eduardo Lourenço one of the greatest Portuguese thinkers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
