Eduardo Lourenço and Fernando Pessoa, the philosopher and the poet

Abstract

To the fascination exerted by the work of the great poet Fernando Pessoa on the philosopher Eduardo Lourenço bear witness the numerous books and articles that Eduardo Lourenço wrote about him. If Pessoa’s poetry was, in effect, a source of inspiration for the latter’s philosophical reflection, the poet’s multiple character was equally an object of curiosity and study for the one who gave him the title of “king of our Bavaria”: a melancholic, mysterious, elusive sovereign, always escaping the definitions that satisfy above all those who give them.
