Produção e consumo de cerâmica na cidade do Porto na Antiguidade:
uma introdução a partir do projeto de investigação CERPOR
Keywords:
Porto, Archaeological ceramics, Collaborative researchAbstract
The text discusses the scientific production resulting from archaeological activity in the city of Oporto in recent decades, with a focus on essays on the ceramics exhumed in excavations. The result is that the evident lack of publications is also reflected in ceramic studies, especially those related to Roman and Protohistoric assemblages.
To minimise this gap in scientific production, a CERPOR research project was designed, funded by CITCEM. This project brings together professors and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto with archaeologists from the municipality and archaeological companies. With an educational dimension and stimulating the production of new knowledge, using various archaeometric techniques and the development of an open database, CERPOR aims to open up a practice of regular collaborative research into the city's archaeological ceramics.
