Abstract

This article aims to assess piracy activities through digital media, viewing them from three different perspectives: political and educational, and the convergence of both as contributors to an emancipatory nature for digital piracy practices. The political approach focuses on the face of inequality highlighted by the specificities of globalization. Education reflects coexistence within the virtual space as a pedagogical experience, with its own dynamics and socialization. Finally, these two elements are brought together in a reflection that proposes raising a way of considering the importance of digital piracy for education and as a form of defense against social inequalities that impede democratic access to different forms of media.
