Blind peer review
CEM journal ensures the quality and scientific rigour of its publications through a double-blind peer review process. All submissions deemed suitable by the editorial team are sent to two reviewers who are experts in the article’s subject area, thereby guaranteeing independence, impartiality and confidentiality. In the event of differing opinions, additional reviews may be requested or decisions may be mediated by the editorial team.
The double-blind peer review system ensures that authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the entire process, preventing conflicts of interest and promoting an assessment based exclusively on scientific merit and the relevance of the contribution.
The editors of the thematic dossier ensure that external reviewers meet the scientific criteria for suitability regarding the subject matter of the articles they are to assess.
Members of the editorial board ensure that external reviewers meet scientific criteria regarding their suitability for the subject matter of the articles they are to evaluate in the "Varia" section.
The editor-in-chief (Director of CEM journal) is responsible for the content of the entire journal, including the thematic dossiers, which must fall within the scope of the journal.
Articles in the thematic dossier are subject to the same editorial oversight as articles in the "Varia" section, including external peer review (double-blind peer review).
The editor-in-chief or specific members of the editorial board may supervise the guest editors and ensure their suitability for the theme of the dossier they are coordinating.
The editors of each thematic dossier may not submit articles that account for more than 25 per cent of the total content of their respective thematic dossier. Articles submitted by the editors of the thematic dossier will undergo an independent review process.
Authors can track the status and progress of their manuscript at each stage of the editorial process via the submission platform. Whenever an editorial decision is recorded, the author automatically receives an email notification containing the reviewers’ recommendations, comments and assessment.
The journal is committed to conducting the peer-review process with transparency, fairness and respect for editorial deadlines, in accordance with internationally recognised guidelines for good scientific review practices.
All peer reviews are carried out with the aim of contributing to the final quality of the work, promoting academic rigour, clarity and disciplinary relevance.
