The CEM journal provides immediate open access to all its content, ensuring that any reader can view (articles and their metadata), download and share the articles free of charge. It is based on the principle that open access to scientific knowledge contributes to the democratisation of information, to increasing academic impact and to promoting research on a global scale.

The journal does not charge submission or publication fees (APCs), ensuring a truly open-access model.
