Abstract

It is crystal clear that the trip of H. Matisse to Morocco was a crucial point. That's because it had a great impact on both his life and works. Not only did the country bring inner peace and joy in painting, but it was a confirmation of his constant search of pure painting, of which the carpet (orient) is the main symbol.
