Thematic Issue: ‘Military Orders and Socio-Religious Phenomena from a Comparative Perspective (12^th to mid-16^th centuries)”

This thematic issue continues Issue No. 1, published at the end of June this year. Accordingly, it maintains its commitment to promoting comparative approaches to the study of the Military Orders, engaging with different geographical contexts and historiographical traditions. Building on the work initiated in Issue No. 1 (2026), the present volume further encourages contributions that explore normative frameworks and discourses, as well as everyday practices, built environments, and the processes and mechanisms of institutional transformation.

The journal welcomes submissions of original articles in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English. Contributions to the “Other Studies” and “Book Reviews” sections are also invited.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online platform, in accordance with the author guidelines available here. All articles undergo double-blind peer review.
